Abstract

A method is described for the determination of naphtha in aluminium soaps based on the Formation of dye para red by coupling the former with diazotised p-nitraniline under controlled temperature and pH and estimation of the colour developed after extraction with alcoholic NaOH. The method has been found to be reasonably accurate under the experimental conditions.
