Abstract

Three water soluble fixed type preservatives viz., copper-chrome-arsenic composition, acid-cupric-chromate composition and copper-chrome-boric composition applied on thirteen types of timbers, were evaluated for their permanence-cum-toxicity by mycological tests. The data have been statistically analysed. The results have shown that, in general, copper-chrome-arsenic preservative is superior in performance amongst these preservatives. All the preservatives have, however, been found satisfactory in respect of specific types of timbers under leached and unleached conditions.
