Dr PC Mehta obtained his PhD from the University of Jodhpur, in 1970. Presently he is headi ng a team of scientists working on holography and integrated optics at IRDE, Dehradun. He had been a Visiting Scientist at the Institute of · Optics, Paris, during 1981-82. He is on the Programme Advisory Committee on Lasers and Optics of the DST. He has published more than 70 research papers and edited a book. His current areas of interest are: holography associated memories, HOE-based instrumentation, planar holography, integrated optics, and optical phase conjugation.
