Ionizing radiations and leukemia

Abstract
In this article an attempt has been made to correlate the incidence of leukemia with the exposure to ionizing radiation. The available data have been analysed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The constant probability of leukemia per individual per rem per year strongly indicates the existence of approximately linear relationship, at least at low levels of exposure. Important conclusions arrived at are- (a)some of the leukemia cases can be attributed to background radiation, and (b)any exposure, however small it may be, must increase the risk of the disease developing.
