Black globe thermometer in the estimation of reflectance of fabrics for total solar radiation

Abstract

A rough but simple method of assessment of reflectance value of fabrics of different colour for total solar radiation including long-infrared component, has been described, which makes use of black-globe thermometer and can be conveniently used in the field. Observations taken on some fabrics of importance to the Defence Services have been reported.
