Abstract

This paper presents an investigation of errors that are likely to creep in the evaluation of principal stresses when misaligned rosettes are used. It has been found that if the gauges forming the rosette are having orientation errors of the order of +2degree centigrade, the error in the evaluation of principal stresses by using normal rosette equations will be about 1 to 3 percent.
