Abstract

This paper deals with the problem of estimating the parameters of Pearson's Type III population from generalised censored samples. Maximum likelihood method is employed to arrive at the estimates. The ML equations are not readily solvable. This has been facilitated by providing a few graphs and tables. Standard errors (s.e.) of the estimates have been obtained by the method of scoring. A numerical example is discusses to illustrate the practical application of the method.
