Abstract

The flow of an incompressible isotropic Bingham material between two concentric discs, one rotating about the other, has been investigated on the basis of usual approximations of hydrodynamic theory of lubrication. The lifting force and the moment of friction of the bearing have been calculated. The results have been compared with those obtained by Tarapov for a Newtonain lubricant having the same viscosity value as the plastic fluidity of the Bindham material.
