Abstract

Binder and oxidizer decomposition play very significant role during the combustion of composite solid propellants. Ammonium perchlorate (AP) is the practical oxidizer in composite propellant formulations. Available information on binder decomposition in general and AP decomposition in particular have been collected and reviewed from the viewpoint of their application in propellants. This review may be useful in understanding the mechanism of propellant combustion.
