Abstract

2, 2', 4, 4, 6, 6' hexanitrostilbene (HNS) is one of the prominent heat resistant explosives which can with stand temperature upto 325 degree Centigrade. This has been widely used in space programmes and in aerospace devices. A survey on the progress made so far in the field of its production, evaluation and uses has been compiled.
