Problems are encountered when conventional, normally aspirated diesel engines are operated at high altitudes. The results of a study carried out at the Indian Institute of Petroleum both on stationary and automotive diesel engines covering the principal problems of power loss and poor thermal efficiency are presented in this paper.Downloads
