Abstract

Registration and development of fission fragments emitted from /sup 252/Cf source have been carried out in three different polycarbonate detectors. The detectors have been characterised in terms of bulk etch rate and its behaviour. Maximum etchable cone lengths have been compared with the theoretically computed values. Identification of the fission fragments in terms of their mass and charge has been done with the help of the computer programme 'FFR'.
