Abstract

The new theory of shock dynamics proposed by Ravindran and Prasad has been considered with initial values taken from the similarity solution for a single conservation equation and the results have been compared with those obtained by Lax-Wendroff finite difference method.

Mr SK Singh obtained his MSc inMathematics in 1983 from Delhi University and MPhil in Applied Mathematics fonn Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, in 1986. He joined DRDO in 1986. At present, he is working as a Scientist at CASSA, Bangalore.,
V.P. Singh, Centre for Aeronautical Systems Studies and Analyses, Bangalore
Dr VP Singh obtained his PhD in 1972 from Delhi University. He joined DRDO in 1966. Presently, he is working as a Scientist at CASSA, Bangalore. Dr Singh has published three books, one monograph, and more than 40 research papers .
