Abstract

The chemical control of insect pests where in the field or in the warehouse or in the home is now established in civilized countries of the world and its contribution particularly to the well-being of the human race is an acknowledged fact although the history of insecticides would seem to date back to about 1000 B.C. It appears that until the last few decades such information as was available was rather empirical and lacked scientific precision.
