Most of the fabrics were dyed vat, with or without mineral khaki ground and simultaneously exposed to weathering at Kanpur and Bombay representing 'hot and dry' and 'hot-humid' climates. Minerals Khaki treatment by itself or as basic treatment on the fabric accords high resistance to weathering. Copper naphthenate by itself or in conjunction with vat dyes impairs resistance. Hydrated manganese oxide has ben found to confer outstanding protection to cotton fabric when the exposure is confined to sunlight only. ER -
