Computers play an important role in the development of bibliographic databases. For generation and exchange of bibliographic data at different lewels-international, national, regional and local-exchange formats are needed. This paper discusses about the formats available at national and international level for adoption by national, international agencies and, individuals/organisations as per their requirements.
