Abstract

The paper analyzes global publications in blockchain research on a series of quantitative and qualitative indicators, using Scopus database. Blockchain research published a total of 4629 research publications in 9-year period during 2010-18. The publications registered a fast growth of 150.24 per cent and registered average citation impact per paper of 5.04. The paper profiles most productive countries, organisation, authors and journals on select bibliometric indicators. The top 29 highly-cited papers in this area are also analysed.

B. M. Gupta, Formerly with CSIR-NISTADS, New Delhi

Dr B.M.Gupta received his B.Lib Sci from Kurukshetra University, Associateship in Documentation from INSDOC and Ph.D. in library science from Karnatak University. He retired as Scientist 'G' and later was Emeritus Scientist for 5 years in CSIR. Mr Gupta is the recipient of the Fullbright Fellowship and Fellow of the Society for Information Science (2007). He had published more than 300 research papers mainly in the area of scientometrics in national and international journals and conferences. He is on editorial board of 4 national journals in the area of library & information science.

Dr S.M. Dhawan, is a senior consultant librarian with over 40 years professional experience in science librarianship and biliometric/scientometric studies. He superannuated in 2005 as Scientist-F from National Physical Laboratory, CSIR, New Delhi. He is Ph.D in Library Science, MLIS from University of New York, USA, and M.Sc Physics from Sardar Patel University. He has worked for innovation supporting library transformation into digital era and in addition has successfully completed several biliometric/scientometric projects.
