Debasis Chaudhuri

Dr. Chaudhuri has more than fifteen years experience in the field of image processing, pattern recognition, computer vision and remote sensing with extensive systems development and implementation experience. He has got lot of experience in advising and guiding others in related fields. He has extensive experience in the field of automatic target detection from satellite imagery. Dr. Chaudhuri was born in Bolpur (Santiniketan), West Bengal, India. He received B. Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics from Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan and M. Sc. in Applied Mathematics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Then he received his Ph. D. (Sc.) in image processing and pattern recognition from one of the world-class research institute, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. After that he was a research associate of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) at Indian Statistical Institute. During this time he has lot of experience in project guidance at Indian Statistical Institute of B. Stat and B. Tech students in image processing and pattern recognition subjects.
Dr. Chaudhuri was a project scientist at Indian Statistical Institute in ISI-ADRIN Project (collaborated by ISI and Dept. of Space, Govt. of India). He was a scientist at Defence Electronics Applications Laboratory, Dehradun under Defense Research and Development Organization, Govt. of India from 1996 to 2001. During this time he has developed lot of techniques mainly, target detection from satellite images, material classification and image enhancement technique for multi-channel passive millimeter wave images and delivered software(s) to the defence users. He was a faculty member at Defence Institute of Advance Technology (Deemed University), Pune, India from 2002 to 2004. During this time he has guided many students for their B. Tech and M. Tech projects and awarded the best project award from IEEE at Western Region Software Park, Pune and National Institute of Technology, Nagpur. Dr. Chaudhuri was a visiting assistant professor at University of Nebraska, USA in the Dept. of Computer Science and Eng. for 2003-2004 Session. He was a scientist at Integrated Test Range, DRDO, Chandipur, India. Presently he is a scientist at DEAL, Dehradun. He has published lot of papers in reputed international journals and he is reviewer in IEEE Trans. on Systems, Man and Cybernetic, Pattern Recognition, Pattern Recognition Letter, WSCG Journal and Defense Science Journal. He is an Associate Editors of two international journals - Pattern recognition Letters and International Journal of Computational Vision and Robotics. He is a fellow of IETE. His fields of interest are image processing, pattern recognition, computer vision and remote sensing.
N.K. Kushwaha
India
Mr N.K. Kushwaha received his BTech (Computer Science and Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 2009. Presently, he is a scientist at DEAL, Dehradun. His fields of interest include: Image processing, pattern recognition, computer vision and remote sensing.
I. Sharif
India
Mr Imran Sharif received his BTech (Computer Science and Engineering) from Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kanpur in 2002 and MTech from CDAC, Noida in 2005. Currently, he is pursuing PhD from Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun. Presently working as a scientist at DEAL, Dehradun. His fields of interest include: Hyper spectral image processing, pattern recognition, computer vision, and remote sensing.
V. Gohri
India
Mr V Gohri retired as Scientist ‘G’ from DEAL, Dehradun. He developed technique for generation of reference image (simulated radar image) in X-band and Ka-band for missile terminal guidance. More than 30 years research experience in the field of remote sensing, optical image processing, digital image processing, sar image processing, and radar image simulation. He has published 18 papers in international and national journals and conferences. He is a fellow IETE and a member of CSI.
