Abstract

The tremendous growth in the area of information technology has revolutionised the potential of information access and dissemination. lnformation professionals are now able to
use more sophisticated tools to communicate with the users and fellow professionals. The development of information technology tools and their widespread use has lead to a basic
question: whether information professionals are out of business, do we still need libraries and librarians? The article attempts to answer these questions.
