 | The slip flow of a viscous electrically conducting fluid past an infinite porous flat plate with variable suction has been studied here for the case of accelerated free-stream. Effects of skin-friction, temperature and heat transfer on the accelerating stream have been studied for different values of magnetic interaction parameter N, accelerating parameter lambda, velocity slip coefficient h/sub 1/ and temperature jump coefficient h/sub 2/ for Prandt1 number Pr=0.7 and Eckert number E=0.2. It is found that the effect of increase in the velocity slip coefficient is to increase the velocity in the boundary layer, but dimensionless skin-fraction coefficient decreases with the increase in velocity slip coefficient. Also the effect of increase in the velocity slip coefficient decreases with the increase in velocity slip coefficient. Also the effect of increase in the velocity slip coefficient decreases with the temperature jump coefficient is to decrease the total temperature. The rate of heat flux from the plate to the fluid increases with the increase of temperature jump coefficient and the decrease of velocity slip coefficient. During the course of discussion, the effect of slip has been compared with the no-slip cases by considering first order slip boundary conditions. |
