 | Two Dimensional Boundary Layer Growth with Suction Author : Lal, Krishna Source : Defence Science Journal ; Vol:20(3) ; 1970 ; pp 155-162 Subject : 532 Fluid Mechanics Keywords : Oscillatory motion ;Constant suction velocity;Fluid flow;Boundary layer equations Abstract : The boundary layer equations for the unsteady fluid flow with constant suction velocity have been worked out for the impulsive motion of a circular cylinder in the form V(t)=A exp (Ct) where A and C are certain constants. The stream function has been expanded in terms of some functions X/sub 0/(s) where s is a function of y coordinate. The phase angles for various terms have been calculated, and variations shown graphically for large and small frequency of oscillations, where the oscillatory motion is obtained on replacing C by iw. |
 | Application of Group Theory of the Similarity Solutions of the Power law Fluids Flow Past a Suddenly Accelerating Plate Author : Lal, Krishna Source : Defence Science Journal ; Vol:20(1) ; 1970 ; pp 39-44 Subject : 532.542 Fluid Dynamics Keywords : Power law fluid ;Transformation Abstract : The motion of a power law fluid past a suddenly accelerated wall which moves with a constant velocity U (t) parallel to the wall has been considered for the similarity analysis. Recently this problem has been discussed and two possible group of transformation have been used by T.Y. Na/sup 1/. In this paper the third possible transformation has been found. The variation of the wall velocity U (t) with time, t, has been worked out. |
