Stability of Viscous Flow between Two Concentric Rotating Porous Cylinders Author : Bahl, S.K. Source : Defence Science Journal ; Vol:20(2) ; 1970 ; pp 89-96 Subject : 532.542 Fluid Dynamics Keywords : Cylinder ;Velocity ratios;Critical Taylor numbers Abstract : The stability of a viscous flow between two concentric rotating porous cylinders has been examined when the difference in radii of the cylinders is small in comparison with their mean radius. Critical Taylor numbers have been calculated for various wave numbers and velocity ratios of the cylinders. Theroetical results show that injection at the outer cylinder improves the stability of the flow whereas suction has an opposite effect.
Heat Flow in a Cylinder in Contact with Well Stirred Fluid Author : Kumar, I.J. Source : Defence Science Journal ; Vol:14(2) ; 1964 ; pp 99-108 Subject : 536 Thermodynamics Keywords : Cylinder;Well stirred fluid Abstract : The transient temperature distribution in a finite hollow cylinder in contact with a well stirred fluid at its outr surface has been obtained. At the inner cylindrical surface cylinder has ben assumed to absorb flux which is sinusoidal along the length of the cylinder and the plane ends of the cylinder have been assumed to be impervious to heat. Some numerical results have been exhibited graphically
Slowing Down Density Of Neutrons In A Cylindrical Pile Author : Deshpande, V.L. Source : Defence Science Journal ; Vol:23(4) ; 1973 ; pp 159-161 Subject : 621.039 Nuclear Sciences Keywords : Neutrons;Cylinder Abstract : In this paper, an equation governing the slowing down of neutrons in matter for a pile in the form of a cylinder has been established and the solution for various types of sources is obtained.
