A condition for achromatism of three lenses Author : Pardharsaradhi, T.V. Source : Defence Science Journal ; Vol:11(2) ; 1961 ; pp 112-115 Subject : 535 Optics Keywords : Achromatism;Hartmann;Wave Abstract : In this paper is given an account of an attempt at obtaining a general condition for the constancy of power for all wave lengths, in other words, total achromatism of a system of three separated lenses, in terms of Hartmann constants. The solution of the general equation by making the Hartmann constants a/Sub/1, a/Sub/2 and a/Sub/3 equal to unity, is naturally the simplest and the condition of achromatism arrived at is shown to be that of three lenses in contact.
Preliminary Studies on Subsoil Temperatures at Jodhpur Author : Mokhashi, B.G. ;Sharma, G.S.;Kaushik, S.B. Source : Defence Science Journal ; Vol:15(1) ; 1965 ; pp 30-35 Subject : 631.4 Soil Science Keywords : Ambient Temperature ;Wave;Diurnal Temperature;Jodhpur Abstract : Diurnal temperature profiles of Jodhpur soil in relation to depth on a few selected days of four different months have been presented. Thermal diffusivity of the soil has been estimated by three different methods and the values, obtained by one of these methods, have been utilized for evaluating the depth of penetration of diurnal temperature wave, which is found to be 50.1 cm on the average. Certain other aspects of surface temperature in relation to ambient temperature, have been discussed.
Polarographic Studies of Phenol Sulphophthalein Author : Venkatesan, V.K. Source : Defence Science Journal ; Vol:22(2) ; 1972 ; pp 127-130 Subject : 547 Organic Chemistry;54 Chemistry Keywords : Wave ;Phenol red Abstract : The Polarographic reduction of phenol sulphophthalcin in buffered solutions of different pH has been investigated in detail. The effect of addition of gelatin, on the reduction for phenol red also been studied. It has been shown that the first wave can be used for the estimation of phenol red. When the gelatin concentration exceeds about 0.008%, the wave heights have been found to get affected.
