Abstract : Periodicals are the most vital source to disseminate nascent information as the latest developments, achievements and advancements in any field are first reported in journals, reports, etc. The paper examines the extent of use of periodicals by the agricultural scientists working in the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad. The study shows that majority of the respondents were consulting journals to update their knowledge and preferred the printed version of the articles. The scientists also considered the name and standing of the journal to publish their articles.
