Abstract : The paper describes an attempt made to identify the Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT) library users’ information needs by using data of inter-library loan (ILL) requests. ILL requests received for the year 2005 and 2006 were analysed. There were 688 documents requested during this period. The parameters studied were: frequently requested journals, and currency of users’ information seeking by analysing publication year of all requested documents. The study found that 16 (5.95 per cent) journals were the most frequently requested journals, in which 31.8 per cent of requested documents had been published. About 50 per cent of the requested documents were published since 1995. The results show that RRCAT library users are heavily seeking information from selected items and those that were published in the past few years.
